Can I use custom fonts in my Core iQ communications?

For Email

Within our email template builder, we have a number of 'web safe' fonts that you can choose from. These fonts were specifically added into Core iQ because they are used by almost every email client, meaning that your email text should always render correctly if you use these fonts. While we cannot offer any custom font choices for emails, we do offer the following options:

  • Arial
  • Arial Narrow
  • Comic Sans
  • Courier New
  • Calibri
  • Cambria
  • Franklin Gothic Medium
  • Georgia
  • Impact
  • Lucida San Unicode
  • Palatino Linotype
  • Tahoma
  • Times New Roman
  • Trebuchet MS
  • Verdana

For Print

When looking at print items within Core iQ, we recommend only utilizing two of our font options, Calibri or Cambria. This is because many of the other font options that are available will not render correctly once they are placed onto a printed page. Fonts like Arial and Georgia will experience kerning, which is the typography issue in which letters are not spaced correctly. You will end up with a letter or postcard that has oddly spaced characters, creating 'scrunched' words.

If you are wanting to use a custom font, however, there is an option for you to explore. You are always free to create a custom postcard face or letter using whatever font you would like. This item would need to be created outside Core iQ and then turned into a PDF document to be uploaded into the platform. This would create a static letter or postcard face which could not be edited inside Core iQ. The main limitation with this would be that you will not be able to utilize Core iQ merge fields within this print piece. However, if you are not planning on using any merge fields, this will allow you to use any font you choose for your letter or postcard.
