How to Find a List of all Customers using the Customer/Member Listing Report

Objective:

In this How-To, we will explore how to find a list of all of your customers/members using the Customer/Member Listing report. We will explore the following topics:

  • How to use the Customer Listing report
  • Ways to pull the report to find specific groups of customers/members for different outcomes

What is the Customer/Member Listing report?

This report, which is found under the Customer/Member Level tab of the reports menu, is used to pull general lists of individuals using their top-level customer data. This data includes things like their birthdate, age, total Core Deposit or Loan balance, whether they have certain products or not, and whether they have a Current or Past relationship. Using these options, we can identify different lists of customers for the purposes of campaigns or customer research.

How do I pull the Customer Listing report?

The fields for this report are very similar to many of the other reports within Core iQ. The left-hand column will allow you to drill down on the institution level, going from Bank to Region to Branch, and finally to Employee. The middle column of the report will allow you to make decisions about the types of customers you want to include in this report. And the last column is a set of date and balance filters that you can use to query different top-level account information.

Using the Specific Grouping and Specific Service areas, we can set a list of products that we want to use to find individuals at our financial institution. We can specify multiple products using these areas in order to find a specific product mix, or we can include only one if we simply want a list of the customers/members with that product. These groupings and product names are all set under the Services & Groupings area of the Admin menu, so if you are unfamiliar with this you can read our helpful article about that area HERE.

The Customer Status drop-down allows you to select whether you want to look at Current Relationships or those that are marked as Past Relationships. A Current Relationship is one that has at least one active product or service associated with it, while a Past Relationship is one that used to have active product, but no longer does. Please be aware that Past Relationships may not be coming into Core iQ if you are not giving them to us. You can read about why we may not be getting Past Relationships HERE.

The final column holds date and balance drop-downs that can be used to find things like birthdate, balance, and age ranges. These options are the most powerful items in this report, so be sure to explore them. The Date Range drop-down will allow you to explore things like the birthdate of your customers, or their Original Customer Date (the date they opened their first account). The Age Range option allows you to query age, but will only return customers that are not deceased according to Core iQ. The Balance Range options allow you to search for specific brackets of balance rollups for either Core Deposits or Loans. These rollups are across all products of that type within Core iQ, so they are great for finding balance data without drilling into specific products.

The final item to look at on this report is the Only Include Primary Signers, Excluding Others toggle. In most cases, you will probably want to view only the primary account holders for your products, so it is important to make sure this is set to the correct option. If you want to include secondary account holders, then you can use this area to include them in your output as well. This is helpful when you want to communicate with every customer/member at your financial institution and are OK with talking to secondary account holders.

How can I use these reports to find opportunities for growth?

If you are pulling this report for a mass communication to all of your customers/members, then you will want to think about whether you want to target only Business/Non-business customers, as well as whether you want to include employees and directors within your results. Outside of that, you will probably want to exclude secondary account holders, unless it is important to include these within your results.

If you are looking for a simplistic version of a 'Customer in Good Standing', then you can run this report with the balance ranges set to find those that do not have any charge offs. To do this, set both Balance Range 1 and Balance Range 2 to be the two Charge-off options and set both sides of these filters to 0 and 0. You can also use the Date Range field to find your 'Customers in Good Standing' that have been with you for over X years.
