Why is my Opportunity of a certain Status not being marked Active/Inactive?

If you are experiencing an issue in which one or more of your Opportunity statuses are not making a set of opportunities Inactive, this is most likely due to a slight misconfiguration. Here is how you can quickly troubleshoot this issue:

First, you will want to go to the Custom Field Definitions area of the Admin menu. From here, you will click the 'Set List Criteria' button to bring up the filtering for this area. You will want to choose an option that relates to the Opportunity product type that you are having issues with. So if your Loan Opportunity Statuses are causing you issues, you will want to select that option in the Custom Field Definitions dropdown. Each status in this area is customizable, but must be mapped to a predefined status behind the scenes which determines the Active/Inactive status. So find the status that is not working correctly and click in to Edit that status.

You will want to toggle the Onovative Status Equivalent dropdown to select a corresponding status to mark the item as Active/Inactive behind the scenes. If you are looking at a 'Lost to Competitor' status that you created which is mapped to an Onovative Status Equivalent that is not something like 'Lost to Other Institution', then that is most likely your issue. When you change the status and click Save, it should mark all items of that status as correctly Active/Inactive

Statuses break down as such:

ACTIVE

  • New
  • Appointment Scheduled
  • Appointment Kept
  • Appointment Not Kept
  • Working

INACTIVE

  • Won
  • Did Not Qualify
  • No Response
  • Lost Interest
  • Lost to Other Institution
